Short-Term Rental Licensing as of January 2026
This bylaw affects just about everyone in ACW. If you rent your cottage a few weeks or all season, live in the vicinity of a short-term rental, you are local and need to book for overflow accommodation, or run a small business that caters to visitors in our community.

ACW Septic Inspections
The second round of septic inspections begins June 10, 2025 between Mackenzie Camp Road and Nile Road, including Port Albert. Look for your appointment time and form to come in the mail.
PACA Mandate
To serve as a common voice for property owners and cottagers in the Port Albert community. PACA will act as representative, liaison and information conduit with other community groups, the Ashfield Colborne Lakeshore Association (ACLA), the Township of Ashfield, Colborne Wawanosh (ACW), the Maitland Valley Conservation Authority (MVCA), and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF).
To create a community association that is inclusive and represents the diversity of citizens in Port Albert.
To embark on activities that are supported by a broad membership and are of benefit to the community as a whole.
